These foods are a strong indicator of the attitudes of a culture. This photo essay will compare the food of Pittsburgh to that of Provo.<br /><br />Sometimes restaurants start out as shanty shacks, but then with bustling business they are required to leave their shacks for a more stable building. Such is the case with the 'Chicken Latino' in Pittsburgh and 'JDawgs' in Provo. They both have their 'OPEN' signs on with an arrow pointing next door to their new establishment.<br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/S8jOYx6lPsI/AAAAAAAAAPA/JvhrCqZ0Lo8/s800/Chicken%20Latino.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 532px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 800px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/S8jOYx6lPsI/AAAAAAAAAPA/JvhrCqZ0Lo8/s800/Chicken%20Latino.jpg" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><em>Chicken Latino, Pittsburgh</em></span></div><br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/S8jOWp-3n2I/AAAAAAAAAOs/FKe-RugRm4s/s800/shack.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 800px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 532px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/S8jOWp-3n2I/AAAAAAAAAOs/FKe-RugRm4s/s800/shack.jpg" /></a> <span style="font-size:78%;"><em>JDawgs, Provo</em></span></div><div align="center"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><br /><div align="left">All Americans love their fries, whether on the East or the West Coast.<br /></div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/S8jOZDUUAhI/AAAAAAAAAPE/xtZNaKDXmhk/s800/Fries.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 532px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 800px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/S8jOZDUUAhI/AAAAAAAAAPE/xtZNaKDXmhk/s800/Fries.jpg" /></a><em> <span style="font-size:78%;">Primantio Bros. Unfortunately this one was the best one that I got because I had people keep on driving by and shining their brights straight at the lens and then some hoodlums decided that they wanted to have a bonfire in 3 feet of snow...I'm not bitter haha. Anyway...I am going to try to go out again on a weekday so hopefully people won't be up the canyon!<br /><div></div>Ben Sparkshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08882721222817933759noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3312685565822733592.post-87724731718671379862009-01-20T20:00:00.000-08:002009-01-25T21:08:54.985-08:00Snowshoeing<div><div><div><div><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SXafGHfpExI/AAAAAAAAAEk/TZxQ4Db0vys/s1600-h/minus+me.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293593339460391698" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 268px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SXafGHfpExI/AAAAAAAAAEk/TZxQ4Db0vys/s400/minus+me.jpg" border="0" /></a> So on our three day weekend we decided to have an adventure and we decided to go snowshoeing!! This was my first attempt at snowshoeing; at first I wasn't quite sure what to expect but it turned out really well. The group of friends that I went with are a lot of fun. We went up to Stewart Falls (which is just a little past Sundance Ski Resort). Of course, knowing me I brought my camera with me and here are some of the pictures that I took. </div><br /><div><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293594048761506770" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 266px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SXafvZ2NK9I/AAAAAAAAAEs/mzUOlPqE9AM/s400/with+me.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295442394030122258" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 266px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SX0wzQi1pRI/AAAAAAAAAE0/gXppDRTE-3g/s400/Jason.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295442749173638530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 260px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SX0xH7jppYI/AAAAAAAAAE8/mvR9U516yiQ/s400/Age.jpg" border="0" /></div></div></div></div><br /><p></p><br /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295443367800192514" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 329px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SX0xr8HtvgI/AAAAAAAAAFE/fJxCGv3iEI0/s400/Jason+Jumping.jpg" border="0" /></p></div></div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295459636329930690" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 266px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SX1Ae5HdX8I/AAAAAAAAAFM/F3YxruGuIGg/s400/Sundance.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295460066957561842" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 266px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SX1A39VFj_I/AAAAAAAAAFU/min9ii2skYg/s400/Group+walking.jpg" border="0" /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295462016402589698" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 266px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SX1CpblACAI/AAAAAAAAAFc/U5wJGbolK7Q/s400/Brent.jpg" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295464636098098738" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 266px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SX1FB6tFNjI/AAAAAAAAAFk/r8zwCUZbOoo/s400/Group+2.jpg" border="0" />Ben Sparkshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08882721222817933759noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3312685565822733592.post-32286305801730449172009-01-04T15:34:00.000-08:002009-01-04T19:31:07.729-08:00So, today is Sunday and usually I have a ton of meetings, but for some strange reason I only had one meeting that lasted about 15 minutes so I have had a little bit of time to edit some of my older photos. Also, for my graduation present...yes I did just graduate from college...my parents bought me a really nice flash for my camera and I can't wait to test it out! But for now, here are a few of the pictures that I have been working on today:<br /><div><div><div><div><br /><br /><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287587478095671218" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 103px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SWFIy-ayL7I/AAAAAAAAAD8/tO5RfLJjiVQ/s400/Road+copy.jpg" border="0" /><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287603859250362722" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 233px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SWFXse-aOWI/AAAAAAAAAEE/gTSHzTenf1g/s400/spinning.jpg" border="0" /></div></div></div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287611140838769986" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 219px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SWFeUVAXxUI/AAAAAAAAAEM/dkI2CVS-0vM/s400/logs.jpg" border="0" /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287630547757993266" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 268px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SWFv99aejTI/AAAAAAAAAEU/3LOKZqcGRkM/s400/log+close.jpg" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287646755703769618" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SWF-tYt4ShI/AAAAAAAAAEc/3QkZ30XBmuU/s400/Immovable+feast+copy.jpg" border="0" />Ben Sparkshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08882721222817933759noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3312685565822733592.post-51270581745916982002008-12-27T22:54:00.000-08:002009-01-01T16:50:01.627-08:00Slacker!!! (cont'd)<div align="left">So, as previously stated I am pretty much a slacker and you may be wondering where those other engagement pictures are since I said that I would post some of my favorite ones and then there is only one! I actually felt like an idiot because I was trying to add pictures and nothing was happening...then later I realized that the window to add the pictures was open but minimized. Anyway...here are some more pictures.<br /></div><p>Here are a few more of the engagement pics that I took:</p><br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286489607860350034" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 272px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SV1iShFPbFI/AAAAAAAAADs/lecZDmasWbA/s400/standing.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286491780729687298" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 377px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_YYQSCtzCRzc/SV1kQ_pqTQI/AAAAAAAAAD0/FkNQ2nKgynQ/s400/behind.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><div align="left">The other week I took missionary pictures for a girl in my ward going on a mission. I realized about half way through sacrament that I had to teach in less than a half an hour so I scrambled out of the 'chapel' and went to one of the computer kiosks in the basement of the SWKT (the building where I have church) and started trying to figure out my lesson. I was supposed to team teach with another girl and we had both forgotten about it. The subject of the lesson was scrapbooking/journal keeping/blogging. The other girl was to teach the first part and then I would teach about blogs and how they are in a sense a form of journal keeping. I showed the class two good examples of blogs (my sisters and my cousins) and then a bad example...MINE! So I haven't been posting as frequently as I would have wanted...school just kicks your butt (good thing I am about to graduate). I realized there have been a lot of pictures that I have taken over the past semester....yes it has been almost 4 months since the last time I wrote on this thing...so I am going to post some of them because they are in a way a sort of journal of what I have been doing. The only problem is that I am pretty picky about what pictures I put up on here. Well...here are some of the projects I have been working on lately:</div><br /><div align="center"><br /></div><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-size:85%;">So I decided to take some of my pictures from Paris and add quotes about Paris to them.</span></div><br /><div align="center"><br /></div><br /><div align="center"></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279838233488015138" style="DISPLAY: block;
