The type of food that you find in different cities can vary greatly. These foods are a strong indicator of the attitudes of a culture. This photo essay will compare the food of Pittsburgh to that of Provo.

Sometimes restaurants start out as shanty shacks, but then with bustling business they are required to leave their shacks for a more stable building. Such is the case with the 'Chicken Latino' in Pittsburgh and 'JDawgs' in Provo. They both have their 'OPEN' signs on with an arrow pointing next door to their new establishment.

All Americans love their fries, whether on the East or the West Coast.

Different cultures appreciate some foods more than others, such as Mac N' Cheese. Mac N' Cheese is a specialty food in Pittsburgh, they offer it practically everywhere from your neighborhood diner to fancy restaurants in the Cultural District. Whereas, in Provo the thought of Mac N' Cheese reminds you of what you ate for lunch and dinner all last month.

Some foods are unique to certain places because of the standard of living. Primanti Bros. in Pittsburgh offers one sandwich, you simply choose the type of meat and cheese and 'All sandwiches come with Tomato, Potatoes & Coleslaw...onions by request'. It is a cheap, filling, blue collar meal. In Provo, JDawgs has just as simple of a menu...'Polish or Beef', a simple and filling meal for a college budget.

Every college town has its ice cream specialty stores with lines going out the doors. Dave and Andy's in Pittsburgh is known in all of Pittsburgh for their homemade ice cream, the most popular being 'Birthday Cake'. Sammy's in Provo is well known for their Pie Shakes, where they actually put a slice of pie in the shake.

Wedding

I know this is over 3 months late...but life gets busy. Here are some pics that Bec took at my wedding that I finally got the time to edit some of them.

In-N-Out

On our roadtrip out to California we decided to stop at IN-N-OUT in Reno, this was my frist experience with IN-N-OUT and I absolutely love it. Here are some pics of our experience.

So my wonderful assistant, Megan, and I went out and took missionary pictures for one of our friends in the ward. Here are a few that we took...Enjoy!

RING

So, Monday night (June 22, 2009) I proposed to Megan. But of course I took some pictures of the ring. I know it has been forever since I have posted anything on here...it is basically since I started dating Megan. Anyway...well here are some pics of the ring.

Starry Night

Nikon D40 24mm f/8 ISO-200 1800.8 sec

So, I was bored the other night and have always wanted to try astrophotography (yes, that is the technical name for taking pictures of the stars). Unfortunately this one was the best one that I got because I had people keep on driving by and shining their brights straight at the lens and then some hoodlums decided that they wanted to have a bonfire in 3 feet of snow...I'm not bitter haha. Anyway...I am going to try to go out again on a weekday so hopefully people won't be up the canyon!

Snowshoeing

So on our three day weekend we decided to have an adventure and we decided to go snowshoeing!! This was my first attempt at snowshoeing; at first I wasn't quite sure what to expect but it turned out really well. The group of friends that I went with are a lot of fun. We went up to Stewart Falls (which is just a little past Sundance Ski Resort). Of course, knowing me I brought my camera with me and here are some of the pictures that I took.

So, today is Sunday and usually I have a ton of meetings, but for some strange reason I only had one meeting that lasted about 15 minutes so I have had a little bit of time to edit some of my older photos. Also, for my graduation present...yes I did just graduate from college...my parents bought me a really nice flash for my camera and I can't wait to test it out! But for now, here are a few of the pictures that I have been working on today:

Slacker!!! (cont'd)

So, as previously stated I am pretty much a slacker and you may be wondering where those other engagement pictures are since I said that I would post some of my favorite ones and then there is only one! I actually felt like an idiot because I was trying to add pictures and nothing was happening...then later I realized that the window to add the pictures was open but minimized. Anyway...here are some more pictures.

Here are a few more of the engagement pics that I took:

The other week I took missionary pictures for a girl in my ward going on a mission. The first one is just a fun one that we took and the second one is the one that she chose to put on her missionary plaque.
